Then there's the Harrison Bergeron thing and I think that's the thing you mean when you say "egalitarianism": an attempt to force equality.
"Potest ex casa magnvs vir exire." The world is chaotic and you cannot predict it: you have heuristics, but weird shit happens and sometimes the weird shit changes everything. So you avoid putting up artificial barriers that stop great men from coming from huts. A great man is probably not going to come from a hut, but trying to stop great men from coming from huts is an attempt to force inequality; this is the thing I mean when I say "egalitarianism".
