     People who think this is ok go ahead and unfollow, mute or block me if you didn’t already do so last year when I spoke out against this bullshit because this is absolutely indefensible and if you think this is ok you are just plain fucking wrong.

     Last year they promised the vaccines were magic!!! It’s a religion of morons that require ritual devotion and incantations to work.

     If it was common knowledge that a promising new vaccine was used in the Spanish Influenza panic, and completely failed, do you think we’d be here gurgling buckets of lies?

     @Gelatinousrube @LaylaAlexandrovna This is exactly what's happening here now that the mandates have been removed. I'm actively looking for work at the moment but maybe half the job listings ask to state your vaccination status when applying. But I don't get it, because if it's not mandated anymore doesn't that count as discrimination? I have a friend who just started a new job and was just asked about it, but no proof was required. What the fuck is that about?
     
     I hate this in between phase. Everyone I know whis vaxxed has caught it yet my plague rat arse hasn't had so much as a sniffle this whole time.
     
     Still, it seems like people don't care too much anymore and things are getting better. Last year I just mmmhmm-ed when people asked and tried to change the subject. Was so awkward. Now I'm open about it, I don't care anymore.

     Ok I spoke too soon, this just came out today. Australia is still fucking insane. Unvaccinated teachers who were fired last year were invited back to work this year and now they are going to have their pay docked as a penalty for not getting the completely useless vaccine.

     @TDovelle @LaylaAlexandrovna I haven't come out to any coworkers yet, except the couple I'm actually friends with, because when I first started my company was actively collecting ze papers. It was a funny thing... They didn't require vaccination, they didn't require you to upload your records, but they really insisted that you should do it as soon as possible. Why do it at all if it wasn't a company policy for jab or GTFO? It still bothers me to think about

     @TDovelle I use to live in Melbourne. I'm glad I left. It's insane how many of my Aussie and Kiwi friends are totally okay with, and defend, all their government actions. :blobcatgrimacing:

     @djsumdog I should have left. Then again, this pay docking travesty is happening in Queensland. Western Australia was fucked with the whole locking the state up for 2 years. NT was fucked with that psychopath of a premier they had. NSW seems like the least worst option.
     
     You're right, most people just don't seem bothered and I can't understand it.

     @TDovelle oh, I mean I left and ended up back in America. That does suck. At least in the US, there are places that haven't gone insane. During the winter of 2020, I drove 8 hours out to Sioux Falls South Dakota just to get away from the insanity of Chicago; just so I could finally go into a bar or a grocery store again (I can't wear a mask, so I had to order all my groceries online or drive to Indiana).
     
     Diversity, real diversity of thought, is America's real strength. I now live back in the South, where I grew up, and it's absolutely wonderful. I got a house, I got my guns, gonna start doing bee hives next year ... and hopefully wait out whatever insane storm is coming next

     @TDovelle I watched a lot of those protests on Rebel News, and watched people get arrested for even posting about protest organizing on the Internet! Insane.
     
     I wouldn't say I'm smart, just lucky. Someone broke into my house when I was living in Wellington, NZ (was there 2.5 years) and stole everything, so I was like "fuck it" and left .. backpacked for a year and lived off savings. I was kinda depressed. ?
     
     But I really did want to move back to Melbourne; even looked at getting another work visa towards the end of my backpacking. It's by pure chance I ended up where I am. I really loved Melbourne too. I was right on the 57 line next to the VIC market .. amazing food, amazing people and art and everything. It's so sad both Canada and Australia have fallen, and are continue to fall, into pure authoritarianism. I have no illusions .. I know America may not far behind.
