   ? I actually wanted to like #MicroBlog (https://micro.blog), but they seem to only recognized #Mastodon instances. I was hopeful that they would recognize #WriteFreely (as it’s a blog platform too), but alas, it was not meant to be.

   For what it’s worth there is more to the #Fediverse than Mastodon. Hopefully #Tumblr does not make the same mistake.

     @darnell i think https://pixelfed.social/ has the most potential on fediverse, but the idea of everyone having their own IG instance just seems weird. I'll have to checkout Write Freely, I haven't yet. Thanks for sharing.

     @lappverk I actually like the idea of everyone having their own #Pixelfed instance! Same with #Mastodon too! ? You can still follow people just the same.

     But yes, I agree that @pixelfed has the potential to rival Mastodon as far as popularity goes. I am waiting until their app launches in the App Store before telling my Instagram friends of my new location.

     @maique @manton I left a suggestion to them after canceling my account internally.

     I think integrating #ActivityPub within a blog is tricky, which is probably why most sites have not done it yet (at least fully).

     @PeterBronez @lappverk @pixelfed I am on the beta too! But many of my friends will not understand what testflight is & why they need to install it.

     @darnell @lappverk @pixelfed I’m on the iOS beta. Using it for https://pixelfed.social/peterbronez

     Overall quite pleased with it. Images seem to get re-ordered on upload, but that’s my only real quibble. Some UI stuff doesn’t quite make sense to me, but I’m not a big Insta user.

     @darnell Micro.blog reflects what Manton wants. I left when he showed no obvious interest in supporting people who don't use iPhones. It's interesting but it's ultimately his playground.

     Bonus points if they create an app for iPad, Apple Watch, & Android Tablets.

     Super bonus points if they make an Android Smart Watch app.

     Are you aware that you can #crossfollow & #crossboost #Mastodon, #Pixelfed & #Friendica accounts?

     With the exception that so far, Friendica & Pixelfed do not interoperate.

     I intermix the services according to my particular demands: When I need to write a longer text or to quote, I use Friendica & boost or refer it on Mastodon.

     Similar, for video & still images I mostly use Pixelfed & also boost or refer the positing on Mastodon.
