     I like how @Mastodon is seriously considering the managed hosting business & eschewing ads. I hope platform creators like @pixelfed, #MissKey & #Pleroma would consider entering the managed hosting space as well in the future (as there is a need for this).

     The WordPresss VIP model is VERY much one @Gargron could excel at.

     Lots of good things to emulate from that #Automattic did with WordPress.org and building a biz around it.

     @poligraf @lonseidman @tchambers @Mastodon @pixelfed I am vaguely familiar with Ning, but I guess they did change after what you said. The company still seems to be doing well though.

     there was a time when having an account on a Ning network allowed one to log in to other networks, and existing friendships would be reflected therein... then they changed it so that one had to sign up to each and every network they wanted to join... not quite sure why... i think they invoked privacy issues... but it was a long time ago and my memory might not be that clear...
