sim@shitposter.club's status on Friday, 19-Aug-2022 04:45:43 JST sim @iceloops If you do hrt, my understanding now is that you will become dependent on it so you can't decide to walk back from it. Someone who did had a health risk. They weren't told about this risk. They had to get off it in order to transition for a surgery but weren't told they would need to take it again afterwards which put them at risk.
What will hrt do for you?-

sim@shitposter.club's status on Friday, 19-Aug-2022 05:48:11 JST sim @iceloops If you want to have a wife and children, I don't think it is worth going down this route. Unless maybe you find someone who feels similar and hold things off, but even then... sometimes it is better to learn to accept ourselves as we are, letting other priorities take over. This has made my own decisions easier. I get to be myself without altering my body and meet higher life goals that are outside of myself. That becomes the focus and responsibility instead. It's never an easy decision to make though. -

sim@shitposter.club's status on Friday, 19-Aug-2022 05:56:11 JST sim @iceloops You think that drugs will help you to be comfortable mentally?
What if I told you instead that it is normal to be uncomfortable mentally? There is no fix it quick pill. You have to do the hard work yourself, often on your own to be in a place where you feel comfortable in your own mental state. You may have to strive for the rest of your life to reach that point, or just let things pass and let the passage of time take over. You may have to change your own mindset on things, let yourself experience things that are healthy for your mind instead... in a world that is extremely unhealthy and a society that is doing what it can to grab your attention away from what is healthy. We live in a society that doesn't want us to be comfortable. So it is normal to not be comfortable. That is worth thinking about before you go altering yourself. -

sim@shitposter.club's status on Friday, 19-Aug-2022 06:16:19 JST sim @Hollahollara @iceloops Thanks for the extra information. Hard to know where to look for this these days.
I agree with you. It becomes more a perspective thing. It's easy to get lost when I'm obsessing about thoughts about myself, but when I'm able to think about larger life goals or other people then it takes me away from myself. It makes it easier to focus on the things that matter to me. It doesn't matter if I feel comfortable with my body, not when I have a goal unrelated to it to achieve or someone else to take care of in some way. It takes a back seat to that. As you say, sometimes we just have to let our thoughts pass and refocus. Not everything needs action. Most of the thoughts that pass are useless to us. -

Hollahollara (hollahollara@spinster.xyz)'s status on Friday, 19-Aug-2022 06:16:20 JST Hollahollara “CAN HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY (HRT) MAKE YOU STERILE?
For some transfeminine individuals who are transitioning, the hormones you take during your transition may make it impossible for you to have biological children.
Procedures like orchiectomies (removing your testicles) can also cause fertility problems.
Researchers don’t know exactly how these hormones can affect sperm in transfeminine people:
estrogen progesterone spironolactone flutamide finasteride other anti-androgens
But taking even a short course of these medications may permanently change or stop your body from making sperm. This can make it impossible to have biological children.”
As far as the other subject, obsessing about your body keeps you from loftier goals. We can have thoughts and feelings without having to do a single thing about them. Assuming even obsessive thoughts demand action is assuming every impulse we possess is worthy. They are not.

sim@shitposter.club's status on Friday, 19-Aug-2022 06:21:45 JST sim @iceloops I meant that it is worth thinking that it is normal to feel mentally uncomfortable right now. Even for as long as you can think.
Curious, do you know if you have other disabilities related to mental health conditions? -

sim@shitposter.club's status on Friday, 19-Aug-2022 06:30:17 JST sim @iceloops It is difficult to get a proper diagnosis, I imagine it is harder where you are when you have to pay for it too. Your social anxiety may make things difficult to feel comfortable, especially relating to yourself.
For some reason, I got the impression that you may have mentioned autism in the past too? -

If you are autistic, that will play a role too. You'd have to give yourself more space to feel uncomfortable mentally. -
