     That was my read too, but the way they chose to phrase it struck me as really interesting. They would have to rewrite the whole thing to make it explicit that they’re talking about poor people, if that’s indeed what they meant, but the choice they *did* make put them squarely in “the law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep und bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread” territory.

     @taylorlorenz I read that as socioeconomicly disadvantaged folks deserve to have as much of a voice as anyone else, but I’m probably wearing rose colored glasses.

     @Malintent I always sign up to nail down a user name, but that’s the extent of it for me on Post. Hive seems to have attracted a lot of people in the Star Wars fandom specifically, so I may still check in there; somehow conversations about Large Company IP seem less precious, as does the data about me Hive will hoover up as a result of participating there in relation to that one single interest.

     @taylorlorenz Good, one less place I need to try out. A lot of these places people keep trying to jump to are filled with examples like this in their respective TOS - all roads lead back to Mastodon, and I think I'll stay right here.

     @Malintent We’re all floating around right now, finding out where all the particles we care about are going to land. The fact that Tumblr is thinking of joining the fediverse will make it easier for me, since some fan folk have gone there. I won’t be making any closed-universe group my place; if you can’t link to it or see it from an incognito browser, I don’t want to post to it.

     @whetstone Oh, for sure, I'm trying to do the same, but it's getting exhausting ?. I'm going to have to keep my eye on Hive, a number of people I followed are only going there - was looking to cut down in my social media outlets after the fall of Twitter, but I'm just starting to get more!
