Ended up going for the chopped up raisins.
Worked fine. And the scones were lovely.

@HebrideanHecate @Gnomeshatecheese I think it was Bill Bryson who marvelled at the ability of the British in a chocolate-drizzled world to get excited about a few currants or raisins in a scone.
Now add jam and clotted cream - heaven.
Am I right in saying that what the Brits call scones the Americans call biscuits and what we call biscuits the Americans call cookies? -

@KeepTakingTheSoma @HebrideanHecate I thought American biscuits are savoury, while a regular scone is sweet(ish).
I'm also not sure the dough is the same sort of dough. But then I've never made American style biscuits.

@KeepTakingTheSoma @HebrideanHecate Scones, clotted cream and jam are the ultimate rebuttal of the claim "British food is bad".
