   @HebrideanHecate @Maud_Gonner @Gnomeshatecheese weirdest thing. We had a LOT of lightning about 3am, no rain, and almost completely silent, tiny rumbles and only a few. Never had dry silent lightning before!

     @Brookryn @FeartnTired @Gnomeshatecheese @Maud_Gonner A friend of mine, years ago, was working up the Loch Maree area, they'd been out when a thunderstorm came on, she said she could see forked lightning come up the loch and then the next minute there was smoke and flame and bangs and a bit smacked a tree branch above her head, she said she took off like a loon, careering through ditches and what have you to get out of there, said she looked like Stig of the Dump by the time she got home again.

     @HebrideanHecate @Brookryn @FeartnTired @Gnomeshatecheese @Maud_Gonner Best thunderstorm I ever saw was out at my parents' place in the country. Sat on the covered porch and watched it roll over the fields. They were on a slightly higher elevation so you could see it moving far into the distance.

     @Fullycaffeinated @HebrideanHecate @Brookryn @FeartnTired @Gnomeshatecheese @Maud_Gonner I was lucky enough to see forked lightning when I was a child. We were on holiday in Austria and we saw forked lightning in the valley by the chalet where we were staying. Amazing.
     The lightning we had in Somerset last night was like nothing I've seen. It was nearly an hour before we heard any thunder and here was very little rain afterwards. But the skies have been very hazy this week. I think they're still chem trailing or up to something. No good will come of playing god with the weather.
