Shitlibs don't understand what a "coming of age" story is supposed to be

It can be dramatic, and should be, but getting molested or having your parents get divorced is not "coming of age". There's no real maturation, just cynicism, sarcasm, and apathy. Coming of age should be learning who you are and who you are meant to be and what you believe in so much you'd die for it. They have none of that.

What about killing your first hooker? Asking for a friend. :wojaks_demon:

I realized that I was an adult when I got a membership card at my nearest grocery store because I shopped there the most often. "Coming of age" really isn't that dramatic.

They think moving into adulthood means experiencing some sort of traumatic event that robs you of innocence and makes you a quirky cynic because that's what happened to them and that's what all their favorite media depicts (so relatable!). I've experienced this behavior/mentality numerous times now when talking about my beliefs, both religious and otherwise. They genuinely cannot comprehend higher/immaterial ideals.

You gotta scrub the sin off of them somehow.

Wait how old were you? My folks were tying them down and handing me the belt sander when I was pretty little.

Takes a while to get through the skull but the screams are worth it.

That's just the sounds of the demons leaving.
