I do wonder if something like @surf which now does use Podcast Index I believe and enables user created feeds of podcasts by topic etc, might have ways to evolve to better support discover of good content.
Have you looked at them, I think I could get you into their private beta if you both were interested....
@tchambers@theDanielJLewis No. I think it's the AI slop machine getting ramped up. More content, but nothing people actually want to listen to and much harder to find the decent stuff.
@dave@theDanielJLewis Thanks @tchambers! Dave and Daniel, we'd love to have you try Surf. Anyone can sign up and create an account at https://surf.social/ and Android is also available in the Google Play Store. If you're an iOS user, sign up for the waitlist here using the referral code TimChambers and we'll get you in asap!
My own take: they took the best lessons from Flipboard and built the from the ground up using open social web tech. So a more long term base for the future versus integrating it into the previous stack.
Plus Surf feeds have more functionalty and mixablity that I recall Flipboard Magazines having.
@surf@dave@tchambers I don't understand what's so special about Surf over Flipboard. I've heard the feature list, and I was thinking, "Didn't Flipboard already do that?"
