     I remember as a child, when we got a puppy. Then an uncle stopped by who really likes dogs, & he chatted excitedly to the puppy, & the puppy got so over-stimulated she peed a little on his shoes, which made him laugh, which made her pee a little more.

     When I read your last sentence, I felt like that puppy.

     @Dianora @bmacDonald94 I love the parallel because, like trump's battleships, they were oversized/overpowered monstrosities that could never reach their full potential due to rapidly evolving aviation technology. They were obsolete before they finished fitting out and spent most of the war hiding from the RAF. Their greatest triumph in battle was being the final resting place for thousands of dead nazis.

     I wonder why that post in-between disappeared. The one that ended with a reference to the ships becoming final resting place. THAT’s what I reacted to… but then it went “poof”.

     I didn’t pee.

     I did have a viscerally gleeful reaction.
