     Some guys imagine they are the Mad Hatter.

     Another reason is that even rock star guys go bald, and hats hide the truth. Big hats hide bigger truths.

     Now, imagine all of that hair is glued to the hat, which is taped to a bald crown.

     I think it's also thought to look cooler, in the sense of more deep & mysterious, if your face & eyes are partially hidden (as in the photos above).
