   I'm trying to find suggestions for "hot drinks without caffeine that aren't tea" because I get tired of decaf coffee and then here come the tea-friends sounding a lot like the dude-weed-lmaos saying "you haven't found the right tea (strain) yet" no I just do not like tea goddamn it.

     @hakui I guess I never realized "barley tea" is *not* actually tea, but its just brewed barley. This is an actually useful response, thank you.

     @prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer what have you tried? puerh has a little more caffeine and is probably the closest tea to coffee, but what you're probably looking for is korean ginseng tea drinks, they aren't actually a tea but little kernels that dissolve completely and isn't a tea at all I think
     that and hot chocolate of course, get the spanish ones that don't have high fructose corn syrup on the ingredients list, or those really gucci hot chocolate mixes that are just high quality chocolate that is shredded for easy melting

     @shibao the ginseng thing is a welcome idea. But yeah, I'm being a picky ass because I don't want calories, caffeine, and every single tea I've tried (darjeeling, herbal, white, oolong, green) all just disgust me. I'm just going to boil water and throw a cinnamon stick in it or something.

     @eee@poa.st @prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer also try the korean ginger drinks too, they are sold as like a jam with ginger slices in a glass bottle you keep in the fridge, basically the jelly is just all honey so you get a heaping spoonful or two of honey ginger drink, dilute it with some boiling water and then you have a lovely ginger drink that took like 15 seconds to make after boiling some water

     @prettygood hot water with honey and lemon is always a good choice. Basically a hot toddy sans whiskey. There are probably other hot, spiced tea like mixtures you could experiment with using hot water plus a natural sweetener as a base.
