That guy is literally applying all the hairstyles, and every single long hair style turns the character female, and every single short hair style turns the character male. Might be offensive towards short haired women and long haired men out there lol.
@matana The problem isn't the customization, the problem is basically the woke agenda they sneaked in. They basically made the male and female characters the exact same character, and gender is now decided by your character customization which can be changed at any time.
@matana I think the extensive customization options could have been included even without wokeness. Other games actually managed to make a long haired man still look male, and a short haired woman still look female.
@ryo My hair goes past my shoulders by a little and I am almost offended... by how shitty and boring these games look. You know what I do about it? I play something else. Actually, even almost offended is hyperbole. It just make me feel tired and very unsurprised. Unsurprised wasn't a word. But it is now that I said it, add it to the dictionaries.
@TerminalAutism Dude, I was expecting these gaymes to be woke just 1 week before the first trailer, especially considering the massive gap between the initial announcement and the first actual trailer on one hand, and the relatively short timespan between the first actual trailer and release date on the other hand. It's a pattern I noticed in every other gayme that went woke and got broke too.
It's just sad to see one of the last few AAA developers going woke. But well, I don't even care anymore. The old 20th century AAA games and the R-18 dojin games are way more fun anyway, and with the exception of visual novels, none of them require me to pay big sums of money too. But I don't like the visual novels, because not only are they the ones ones to be very expensive, they're the only ones to come with DRM (which is malware) too.
@ryo@matana It's an issue of there being no variety in body shape and facial structure, because they refuse to recognize that men and women are real (and are lazy as fuck, that's probably another reason). It's not even about hair styles or clothes being usable by every character. Like, I think being able to equip everything is potentially pretty funny (especially for people that like playing games as the most fucked up and stupid-looking character that they can possibly make), and more options are pretty much always a good thing for customizations, so people can make whatever they want, so that's not necessarily the problem.
@TerminalAutism@matana Even with Mii characters you could easily tell which ones are supposed to be male and female though. And we all know how creative everyone got with them.
@matana@ryo Are there any female characters that people like, in the game? Because I just looked at the lewds, and it's pretty much all of characters from previous games. This is really abnormal. Then normal for Pokemon is for those websites to be flooded with lewds of new characters before the games are even out. I think they did it, I think they drained anything appealing about the series that was still left.
@TerminalAutism@matana Even the female main character of Sword and Shield got way more love, especially Marii. There's lots of R-18 dojin comics and illustrations about these 2 too.
I don't think we'll ever see any ero-manga of any of the gen 9 characters though. Characters from Legends Arceus even got ero-manga and ero-illusts, especially Kai got a lot of love.
@matana@ryo I don't know about that, I haven't even seen the characters. To me, the franchise was already dying when gen 7 was announced and dead when I heard that gen 8 had DLC. Normally I know the characters from the lewds, but this time there's nothing. Now it's really, really dead. And buried, and rotting. When are people going to stop buying these shitty games? The sales better be low. But I suspect that they aren't, because video game people will buy fucking anything, even if they know for a fact that it sucks, which is one reason why I hate them and don't associate with them despite being more into games than they will ever be. They don't have hobbies, they are just consoomers. They don't care about what it is, they just want to consoom it, as long as it takes no effort.
@TerminalAutism@ryo oh wait, there was this new "poketuber" character who might produce lots of lewds but due to her color palette guess who tried to "claim" her......
I doubt the sales will be low, and there are a ton of defenders already, blaming the hardware where PC games run decently
(although I personally really liked gen 7 Moon and its story at least for the balls Game Freak displayed there, but I never played Pokemon before)
@matana@ryo The yellow and black makes me think of ancaps. And I never even played Gen 7. 6 was my last one and even that was going in a bad direction.
@matana@TerminalAutism So a tranny ancap? Never actually met one before though, because so far I've only met ancaps who are completely against the transgender agenda (but still let you do so if you want to), and troons who are against ancaps (to the point they blanket ban and insult them).
@ryo@TerminalAutism Nintendo so far refuses to go full soy, so just like with Splatoon 3, they cockblocked rabid consoomers and said she was just a normal girl
@matana@TerminalAutism Even NCL put up a "diversity and inclusion" statement on their websoyte at one point, that alone is a clear sign to be very suspicious of them going forward.
@ryo@matana I'm pretty sure, from my highly scientific research (looking at the number of results in Paheal and Gelbooru) that the Sword and Shield girl was more popular than the one in Sun and Moon, though Sun and Moon had more female characters, most of them pretty damn popular. But Sword and Shield had some really good character designs too. I think there was no decline from one to the other. The new games, though... really not seeing much. On Gelbooru there's more, but it's mostly just some fanart of the weird ancap girl.
@TerminalAutism@ryo Sword and Shield had a great boost before release in form of the internet taking the "swearing Scottish lass" idea and running with it, endearing many to the MC
