     @BowsacNoodle @CrustyBurgerhead @King_Noticer @LittleTom @SuperLutheran I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with seeing similarities between meditation and prayer. If I wake up in the middle of the night with what I guess is a mild panic attack of decision paralysis, praying eventually gets me back to sleep. On a pragmatic level, you're forcing yourself to calm down and talking through things in your head. But for us Christians, God is involved in the process.
     
     One could also compare saying the Rosary to mantras which help calm someone through repitition. But that is a Hellthread waiting to happen.

     I don't think people should be praying it without eating in hopes of physically achieving theosis necessarily but it is a good prayer.

     I have my own feelings about that too, but short answer is my vocation is to be a father and raise a God-serving family. We have to work and live besides just worshipping because our temporal needs require it while we're on this earth.
