@sapphire @BitterPill I just want to visit it because I never got to experience it and I'm obsessed with certain parts of American culture that came from the 80s. Johnny Peligro repeated this. -

@Turkleton @BitterPill I think an 80s/90s restaurant would do big money these days. I’ve always wanted to open one where it’s just a bunch of private rooms with a dining room and a big CRT playing whatever programming was available that day in whatever year, commercials and all, that serves nicer versions of the goyslop your mom made out of a box Johnny Peligro likes this. -

@BitterPill @Turkleton I’ve decided to stop focusing on what’s been “taken away” and more on what we’ve gained since then which feels way better. I can have any publicly available knowledge in front of my eyeballs in the time it takes me to ask the question, that’s really fuckin cool -

@sapphire @Turkleton Not sure until when but I'm pretty sure smoking was allowed on planes in the past. Not to mention being able to get on a plane buying a ticket last minute like it was just a bus ride, none of this security theater bullshit because of muh terrorism. Transatlantic supersonic flights too.
I don't much like second hand smoke either but it'd be worth it just for a fraction of everything that's been taken away over the years. -

@grizzlywhisker @Sergio4ever @GoyGirl @BitterPill @Glassjaw @Turkleton @rahula @sapphire Despite dying before it's time, the Dreamcast remains one of the greatest / most innovative home consoles ever made.
While the PS2 was undeniably a powerhouse, many overlook that Sega's last venture into the console arena had graphical capabilities that matched those of Sony's machine.
I'm still convinced that if Sega did things differently back in the day, gaming as we know it today would be a lot better off. -

There was a badass arcade in my hometown, but they didn't have that game for some reason. I never got to play it until Dreamcast. I know that series has a big fanbase, but Capcom doesn't give a shit about it for some reason. Hoss Delgado repeated this. -

Yeah but it's still pretty fun... Or at least it was in the 90's and 00's when I went there a lot. I probably haven't been there since 2009 or something. They used to have the tallest roller coasters, idk if they still do. Idk if niggers/jeets even like roller coasters, but hopefully it's not full of brown shit people now. -

Geauga Lake was the hidden gem. Then 6 Flags bought them out. Then Cedar Fair (owners of Cedar Point) bought that location from 6 Flags and shuttered it. -

I usually just went to Cedar Point because that's the only thing that's near Michigan. I once went to another roller coaster park in Florida, but I think it was a Busch Gardens. It was pretty cool though. I don't think I've ever been to a 6 flags. We used to have a place called "Boblo Island" (sort of like the Coney Island of Detroit) but I only got to go there once in the early 90's before they closed it. -

@GoyGirl @BitterPill @Glassjaw @rahula @sapphire I am very fortunate for what I have and where I live. I haven't traveled much besides the whole West coast back and forth a billion times. Farthest East I went is Milwaukee for a music fest thing. One day I will see all the states hopefully 😄 -

80's girl, also don't remember much, besides Lynyrd Skynyrd & my sister's butt rock 😆 My brothers are 13-20 yrs. older (sister nearly 8) & they were definitely living their best lives. Older parents, born just before boomers, & rural...
Time definitely stood still in happy ways more, even til early 2000's, like you said. -

@Turkleton @rahula @sapphire @BitterPill I was born in ’83.. so I barely remember the 80s except for the music because my parents were metal heads.. but even the 90s to about 2010 felt like a different country all together in terms of being optimistic about the future of it. -
