     @Sirpantangelini @monarchist @TXPatriot2021 Wasn't Huxley's grandfather involved in fishing population maps that were the "global warming" of the day? The world we live in is far more Brave New World than 1984, but the distractions allow control to slip in and most of us carry a monitoring device in our pockets and people PAY MONEY to have an "Alexa" spy on their every word.

I would like one that randomly searched for obscure nonsense and actually opened the tab in the background and interacted with some links. Basically noise pollution.

     @BowsacNoodle @Sirpantangelini @monarchist @TXPatriot2021 idk, there is a lot of 1984 stuff happening, people just seem to focus on the more hyped up stuff like outright military authoritarianism or total surveillance (which has been tolerable to a lot of people because they never had an efficient way to use all the information, which is going to change soon with AI, Snowden explained this when he first warned people what was happening). control of language, manipulation of history, control of peoples perception of things happening in the world...these were all big parts of the book that are all happening now. really, we're living in a synthesis of the two.
