@Zergling_man @mangeurdenuage For that example, it's so trivial that the proprietary software company could have written it themselves, but there's always such a slave that saves them a buck even for that. -

@thatbrickster @mangeurdenuage The ethical issue is that the software is being used to take the freedom of people, as the software has been rendered proprietary.
It would be ethical if nintendo was to make all the software that they used on the switch free software, even if they never submitted a single patch to upstream for the software that they copied. -

@mangeurdenuage Released under a permissive licence in the hopes it would be adopted, and was. If that's what the author wanted I see no ethical issue with that. The problem starts when Nintendo upstreams nothing, which they won't. -
