    Very upset that my previously favorite Monterey bakery removed the only savory pastry (ham and cheese), didn’t have anything savory for a well, put it back, but replaced the ham and cheese with only.. carrots.

    I can’t stand this country’s sweet breakfasts anymore

      Yesterday I had a quarter of a cookie at work at a ‘cookie party’, everyone was like what’s wrong? I was like it’s way too sweet

      They laughed and said it’s the LEAST sweet one and they were glad I didn’t try the triple chocolate.

      I would be fine, if the chocolate was dark.

      I have an extremely low tolerance for sugar, which makes most food in this country.. a challenge.

      @skinnylatte I used to enrage my students my making cookies for them, but with flavors like mahlab or salty chocolate. Why make us cookies if they're going to be weird and not sweet??

      A while ago I bought some pre-packaged gluten-free pizza crusts the GF specialist company Schär. They were sweet, and not just a little bit. Revolting. What kind of monster...

      One time I had a ‘chicken cookie’ from a Chinese bakery. Lots of American friends wanted to try it. They found it revolting. (No chicken! It’s just called that)

      It was a super savory five spice cookie. I love that shit.

      So their confusion on their face at a savory cookie is the same as mine at an incredibly sweet American cookie.

      well yeah, but that tastes like chicken and @skinnylatte said her chicken cookie did not. Chicken in a biscuit is delicious its full of MSG and artificial flavors and all that good stuff.

      @gnu2 What I was trying to convey is that Americans do not necessarily have an aversion to the idea of a savory cookie, in general, not that the cookie needed to taste like chicken. Chicken in a Biskit is just one example of something that could plausibly be described as a "savory cookie". But CiaB is clearly what Americans would call a "cracker", not really a "cookie", even though there's little to distinguish between them.
