     @amberage @codl I think that one is not enough heat / didn't wait enough.
     
     But I rarely solder and usually just happens to me with cables which I just swap off when it happens so I'm not 100% sure.

     @lanodan @codl nah, if I turn the heat up, the solder just burns at the tip of the iron. It's caked in burnt residue by now; I used to regularly try to get it up (unsuccessfully) and eventually gave up.

     The rare times I solder, I just use leaded solder. It just works.

     @tk @codl ksger or quicko, but get the one where the grounding is external. and buy real tips. i have feita tips and a cheapo box.
     
     well, or a solder pen these days idk.
     
     you can get in to digital soldering for around 50$ and it really changes the game.
