   @eriner @Max_Imum A lot of people don't know this, but you can raise bees in the walls of your house for free. You can just take them home. I have 46,000 yellow jackets in my home's north wall.

     @Max_Imum Bees ain't cheap. These are all ballpark numbers for TWO hives.

     hives: $300
     frame feeders: $30
     bee packages: $400
     garment: $40
     1lb wax: $12
     5lb sugar: $5

     You also need a staple gun, wood glue, and a few hours to assemble the frames.

     Building my own boxes (and purchasing just the frames) would have been cheaper but more time consuming.

     @eriner hell yeah! I've decided that next year is the year. I'm going to get everything ready to start a hive next spring.
     How much did it cost you to get started, ballpark?
