   80% of Americans scream, 'Bring back manufacturing jobs!' But ask them to actually work in a factory? Suddenly, only 20% are interested. And Wall Street? Ha! They’d rather burn money than invest in US production. So forgive me if I don’t hold my breath for this nostalgic fantasy.

     I knew people who work in auto part manufacturing back in University and the pay was decent ... back in the 2000s. I'm not sure about today.
     
     With factory work you tend to need to live in the middle of nowhere. It's pretty thankless work, and probably harder than truck driving (unless you just really love driving).
     
     It can also be pretty dangerous. There have been incidents over the years at McKee Foods (Little Debby) of things like hair getting caught in machines and ripping of scalps. Most of it is people not following all the safety guidelines and OSHA crap, but you can still get seriously injured in a fucking cookie factory!

     @yogthos manufacturing jobs are cool the problem is that they pay nothing and dont wanna higher anyone. Ive been applying to entry level manufacturing jobs for a month now and haven't getten a single response.
