Okay guys, I need your help.
How much would you pay for something like this?
It's solid copper, 11.5"x 7.25", etched and handmade

@WoodshopHandman @rher I'd say if you popped it in a nice frame and put it in a gallery, I don't think $200 would be out of reason. -

@rher Insanity. It's only 22ga copper. (I will be using 20ga metal for all of my future etches, however) Rheristies likes this. -

@sickburnbro @rher @WoodshopHandman A wood frame? I feel like that would look awkward with the metal. Maybe painted black or burnt?
Anyway I’d say mid 100’s. You could charge more if you allowed people to submit designs for you to etch.In conversation permalink -

Frames are tough, especially if you do custom designs. They depend so much on the client's tastes and preferences, and worst of all they make or break a piece. If you're really going to go ahead with that subcontract to a framing shop. In conversation permalink -

Women do be shopping. They are your greatest customer. Charge them more or they'll think they're being fleeced. In conversation permalink -

@john_darksoul @rher I was thinking about this too, but my concerns are thus:
>Do women think metal like this is cheap or expensive?
>What kind of foidslop should I be etching for them?
>What sizes would they be more inclined to buy for home decor?
Female home decor is foreign territory to me.In conversation permalink Rheristies likes this. -

@rher @WoodshopHandman Catering to women will make you more money. I think they tend to be trendy and fickle though, but I don’t know a lot about those markets. In conversation permalink -

@deprecated_ii @rher I think I'm having a hard time justifying higher prices out of personal bias. I know *I* would never pay that much for it, especially since I know how easy the process to do it is, and I think that's holding me back. In conversation permalink Rheristies likes this. -

@WoodshopHandman @rher yes, I used to struggle with that as well. but your customers will actually feel better about buying something that's more expensive
also consider that it's not just the effort of making the thing, but you also have to market it and deal with shipping and all that crap, which isn't free (in terms of time)In conversation permalink Rheristies and Johnny Peligro like this. -

@WoodshopHandman @rher if you don't charge at least a couple hundred bucks a lot of people will think it's garbage just on the price alone In conversation permalink Rheristies likes this.
