   Linux distro already has a package manager with pretty heavily guarded repositories.
   Programming language x introduces another fucking repository with their own package manager. And it's all user submitted.
   
   That's like what really gets me.

     There is the GPLv1, GPLv2, GPLv3 and the Lesser and Affero versions.
     
     BusyBox is GPLv2-only (a free software license that does not have "open" in it) and does not implement a functionality that shows the license.
