Factory farmed in squalid conditions, pumped full of antibiotics, soaked in bleach, but we increased the amount of saturated fat in our deep fried chicken so it's healthy now!

@anemone completely agreed. For us it's hard to use the healthier alternatives since we're poor, but we don't use much really. I in general should eat less during lunch, though. -

@mischievoustomato@tsundere.love i would avoid them when possible. there's no evidence they're inherently worse for you, but many are made via industrial processes that involve excess heat and exposure to solvents. Olive or Avocado oil are healthier alternatives that also aren't full of saturated fat like tallow, lard, duck fat, or coconut oil.
More importantly, deep fried foods are never healthy lol. The actual healthy thing to do is eat less oils/fats overall since most people eat too much.Johnny Peligro likes this. -

@mischievoustomato@tsundere.love the whole seed oil thing seems to mainly be delusional copium for idiots who want to blame others for their poor eating habits and resulting health problems. It's a nice fantasy to think you can keep stuffing your face full of burgers and tendies and magically lose weight if you just change one ingredient (that just so happens to make it taste even better!)

@anemone yeah, it did sound to be too good to be true. In my defense, I believe everything I read until I actually care to research -

Cholesterol can't be regulated by diet in most humans. That's one of the big lies. It's not the cholesterol that hurts you. All your cell lining is made from it. The reason people get cholesterol blockage is from eating excess sugar and bread. That causes glysification in your blood vessels (damage from inflammation). Cholesterol is how you body fixes that.
Eat nothing but sugar and that damage gets worse an worse until that cholesterol breaks the wall lining. But if you don't consume excess sugars/starches, the cholesterol will never damage anything. ... Also salt doesn't increase blood pressure.
I don't know how bad seed oil is, but from the original image, the chicken fried in non-seed oil (coconut, olive, etc.) is probably going to be healthier .. if it wasn't breaded in flour. That crispy starch exterior is what's bad. Grill your meets. Don't bread them. -
