     Maybe if the webengines can find a nicer way to display it, it could be king?

     @lunarised @Cyrillic @Witch_Hunter_Siegfired @hispanicweeb @kilostere webp is supported in pretty much all imaging relevant free software, as the library implementing it is free software (even in old SDLv1).
     
     Proprietary software tends to lack support for it, same as most other image formats (proprietary software developers tend to only make animated gif functional for animations), so lusers and itoddlers can't handle receiving a webp.
