   If I see one more #Mastodon HOA member complain about how *their* feed is burdened by lack of CW from *other* posters, I’m going to snap.

   **YOUR FEED IS NOT OUR OBLIGATION.**

   You have filters, muting, and blocking. Utilize them. Take responsibility for your own feed, and stop telling others what to do with theirs.

     Maybe they think theres some sort of algorithm that should be hiding the posts for them or something?🤷♂️🤦♂️

     @BeAware There’s just this level of arrogance involved in the idea that someone’s feed should immediately be appealing to them, without them having to do anything to make it that way.

     I’ve had to mute a lot of topics. I’ve had to mute and or block people that made my feed terrible.

     And also, telling people how to post is, in itself, arrogant. As if they’re the arbiter of the fediverse.

     @BeAware 😂 and what’s even more strange is how customizable the entire experience is, but they still complain.

     Mastodon is incredible, minus a few whining turds.

     @Sean @BeAware That’s what makes the fediverse in general so appealing to me—the total independence. Using these small features to tailor my feed to what I want is why I continue being here.

     I once had a back and forth about moderation being bespoke by means of DIY and one of those whiners stated "it shouldn't be my job to moderate my feed". What I thought was a feature he thought was a bug that made Mastodon useless.

     FB, IG, xitter all commandeer our attention with no ability to control our own feed, if one wants that then they can keep it, but I like the ability to tweak my feed within a inch of its life or just accept less than perfectly cultivated feed.
