   (Upgraded) digital government IDs is a good idea. Generalized unbridled resistance is not just futile, it's silly.

   Digital ID already exists in shitty forms. While the government almost always manages to screw things up, it's hard to imagine an inferior system than America's current solution to digital identity verification (send your SSN to anyone who asks, send your ID and biometrics to Israeli company Au10tix, etc).

     @RandomDeamon "Real ID" is just a marketing term for State IDs with additional/enhanced holographics seals or whatever AFAIK.

     This is the phone case I have to use because the State threatens me with violence (that they will follow through on) if I don’t carry and present my papers.

     You can argue against having to carry and present State documents on principle, and I’d agree with you, but resisting a digital equivalent of this without an articulable rationale simply because it’s digital is dumb.

     This far I have not gotten a “Real ID” driver’s license. My driver license is issued by my state and IS REAL identification.

     @freemayonnaise Wrong, Canadian retard. My argument is that it already exists and therefore the form that it takes, physical or digital, is a meaningless distinction. If you want to argue against State IDs on principle (which it seems you do), that's fine and I probably agree with you. But resisting digital ID with no articulable rationale other than "it's digital" is my entire point, something that you fail to grasp because you are intellectually disabled.
