     I'm using the GI Bill in the county with the best GI Bill rate in the country in a program designed for veterans and international students.

     She's from India. (I guess I'm a JD Vance Republican after all.)

     That's why for SF.

     The Stinking Rose is a good choice. Expect to come away virtually sweating garlic.

     But tastes and values differ. It really depends on what sort of thing impresses her. Fancy doesn't always equal good. Good isn't always fancy. The Taiwan Restaurant for instance is very authentic and very good, but small and unimpressive.

     My advice is to take her to a place that impresses you, and at which you are most likely to be comfortable and yourself.

     @ILoveAmericaNews Thank you for your service. And get out of Kalifornia ASAP. I lived there 6 years after I left the USMC mid-80s. I can't imagine how woke it is. Well, I don't have to - it's on the headlines every day. BEAUTIFUL state. HORRIBLE gummint. and lots of entitled AH's.

     I have a house in Utah. I just go to school in SF because it's a good place to study IT, and it is a good place to use the GI Bill.

     @ILoveAmericaNews I went there from the USMC in 1985 when Silly Cone Valley was blooming. Worked out well overall. I had a 5-year plan to move back to the Southeast and it took 6, but it's been good. Berkely Greek theatre, lots of big acts in small venues, that other amphitheatre up on the west hills I forget the name of...it was a blast. But the cost of living was insane. Average house price went from like $65K to $120K the year I moved there, and just kept skyrocketing.
