    Wired has identified 6 young men helping Elon with his illegal coup inside our Office of Management and Budget (OMB), their names are Akash Bobba, Edward Coristine, Luke Farritor, Gautier Cole Killian, Gavin Kliger, and Ethan Shaotran

      @seachanger@alaskan.social "Congress has no ability to really intervene and monitor what's happening because these aren't really accountable public officials"it feels weird to be commenting on how freaking broken our system is, but my god. If your own legal framework has no remedy for a hostile actor breaking the law within the system, your legal framework is bad. So either there's truly no mechanism for congress to intervene and defend the institution, or it's just that none of current congress people will enforce it... which one, I wonder.

      There's ABSOLUTELY a mechanism for Congress to intervene. It's called impeachment and removal. Or at least pass a law and override the inevitable veto. But so long as Trump has at least 33 Senators on his side, then it literally doesn't matter. Apparently the Constitution writers simply didn't conceive of a government where even just 1/3 of Congress simply decided not to bother checking the power of the Executive branch.

      @JessTheUnstill @aud @seachanger NO Impeachment is not a mechanism. It's a TROLL & #Hopium.

      The way it's written there'll NEVER be enough numbers to BOTH Impeach And Convict. More likely to win in Vegas.

      2 tries already with most crime-ridden candidate ever & couldn't be done.

      Constitution is "did my own research" alpha software never stress-tested nor math checked on things such as Impeachment w Parties.

      The fact a Felon is allowed to even be a candidate for POTUS…

      @seachanger@alaskan.social right?? like is this true? Like I get that no, this congress in particular isn't gonna do shit, but is it actually true they legally cannot? Because there is a difference and it's worth noting, I think.

      Even without the legal framework, they could also do something like "send in the capitol police" in an extralegal manner but that's a totally separate issue. I think it would be nice to know what potential pressure points the system has for us to push on.
