     @selzero I ask because I am wondering what, if any, work you have done on being compliant with the Online Safety Act as far as Syzito goes or what risks or liabilities you are running as a result.

     @Black_Flag at the moment I am the sole source of moderation, and I look to users to report anything suspicious.

     The safety level required by the Online Safety Act is (afaik) well within the bounds of our moderation rules. IE we wouldn't allow such content or behavior even without the act.

     Do you have any particular concerns about content or malicious actors?

     @selzero I don't know how well you are acquainted with the Act or its reach and proposed policing. I have seen other admins of other instances wrestling with the imagined consequences.

     For example, if you allow pornography the Act applies to you. If you came to the attention of the authorities they might insist that you age verify every user (which has a cost attached). There are further possible ramifications (i.e. that you might ban porn but Syzito is still a portal to ANY fediverse porn).

     @Black_Flag an interesting concept that we as instance owners become responsible for content on other instances.

     When someone sparks up an instance of Mastodon we are all automatically federated with it. Federation is opt out not opt in.

     It is unfeasible the way the Fediverse works, for instance admins to be held responsible for anything that anyone might post on any instance that may have just been created 🤔

     @selzero As I am sure you are aware, the bozos who created the act didn't care about how it might be enforced or even if it could be. The admin of woof.group has adequately exampled that the remit of the act is unworkable. But it remains to be discovered how the enforcing powers shall go about their job of censorship. I asked only because I understood you to be a UK citizen.

     @Black_Flag thanks for the heads up. So far I think our only risk factor is political. Particularly because in the environment we are in, any criticism of the government of Israel is considered "anti semitic" I can't see that we have another vulnerability to this the act. I'm happy to get up and explain things to a judge if it gets to that.
