@db We'll have to see how things keep going, but in general he was a far of tariffs in 2016, so I think this is fairly consistent. -

@sickburnbro Tariffs earn income when people buy imports. This would preferably be for luxury goods, as if you're importing things like food or fuel you've got other problems that a tariff will not solve. To have money to buy imports you need to be making money with a lot of exports. Production capability. US still has a lot of that, but not as much as before.

@ned Usually what happens is that other places will retaliate with tariffs, so that by nature means that the types of goods traded will only be more valuable. -

@ned @sickburnbro I would think in this case they're being applied as an 'evening' measure to counteract the ability of countries that have lax (or non-existent) safety, labor, and environmental laws to have to conform to.
Get rid of the onerous regulations??
Tough subject all around; you have to have some kind of regulations, but I think they could definitely stand to be dialed back a good bit. -

@DNutzinski @sickburnbro Yes and correct. The problem with regulation is not necessarily the regulation. It's the corruption. If regulation was not corrupt it would be preventing legitimate douchbags from exploiting people and putting them in danger. Not tieing the hands of honest people trying to make a living.

@sickburnbro @cowanon I've unfollowed (but not blocked, because I don't get butthurt) a number of accounts because I think they forgot how to poast anything at all except Trump-drinks-jew-cum memes.
I don't much care about the orange retard. But I care even less about monomanical memes when the needle is moving in the right direction. And not just in what is being said, but what has been done in a mere week. -

@totalslothdeath @cowanon I think by pardoning the J6 people, pro life protestors and Ross Ulrich in under a week, it's worth at least considering this might be different than 2016. -

@BadOptniks @totalslothdeath @cowanon yes, this is certainly *possible* but this is getting to "5d chess" level reasoning.
These people have been pretty upfront saying "actually, we hate white people" so it seems odd they would go through all these extra steps to hate white people, when they could easily have just done the 2014 slow boil of the frog - if they had as much power as this requires - install Jeb! rotate out all the other cast of losers, etc. -

@sickburnbro @totalslothdeath @cowanon If trump is a manchurian deep stater, by putting biden in between two terms gives trump the illusion of swamp draining by undoing what biden did, maybe some of what he himself did too, without really moving or taking any modern pieces off the board. We still have the patriot act and national defense authorisation act.
