      @ILoveAmericaNews might be too little too late. Honestly, if I was one of them servicemen, I'd be, like, shove it.
      Full back pay with interest plus damages with no questions asked and honorable discharge with the option to come back to service.... That might be fair, but to presume they're still willing to serve a country that discarded them in this way.... Fuck no!

      @ThatCrazyDude

      4 years back pay is a pretty huge incentive. I would reenlist for less.

      @FortyTwo

      4 years back pay would motivate me.

      @ThatCrazyDude @ILoveAmericaNews "Lifers" will go back in a second. They're institutionalized and don't function well in civilian life.

      I had a Chief and Warrant Officer on my first boat that hadn't gone to shore in over a year when I came aboard. Both were married, with kids and a nice house in Richmond

      I asked Chief about it one day and he told me, "when I'm outside, I have to wait in line. Nobody listens to me. Here, I have people that jump when I tell them and have meals brought to me."

      @ILoveAmericaNews shit this really bothers me. Imagine you've been put trough all that shit, you've been fired, lost benefits and all, you had to survive, somehow, so you started a new career and now someone tells you "we good now, drop whatever it is you're doing, put up the uniform like nothing happened, here's your orders!"
      I mean, what the F is this?!

      @ThatCrazyDude @ILoveAmericaNews

      As I understood it, this included the option for immediate honorable discharge.

      @ILoveAmericaNews if I was unemployed and with no income whatsoever, I would too. But assuming we're all capable adults who kinda work for the living and seek employment/business opportunities when we get fired.... Would you tell your employer to go fuck himself just because your previous employer who treated you like a piece of shit had a change of heart, and even that can change in 4 years?
      I'd think twice

      @ThatCrazyDude

      I'm sure it depends on the job.

      I was programmer in the Air Force, and I would love to work for the Space Force.
