   There is discourse in some spaces on allowing ssh with password authentication on the standard port.

   I do this, but only on IPv6 addresses which are not allowed initiate egress traffic.

     @dalias Heh. Unrelated to this, one of the new hires at work recently watched one of my internal presentations on how to deal strategically with fraud actors, and when I asked what they thought, I got a response along the lines of "I can't get over how vicious some of those things are, you seem so nice!".

     I think the poor kid was really unsettled by me cheerfully talking about deliberately timing mitigation deployments to disrupt to other side's nights and weekends.
