Have you noticed that no matter how dead new atheism gets and how discredited Sam Harris becomes and how many snarky memes mocking Richard Dawkins are posted (including a whole episode of South Park) religion isn't recovering?

@judgedread I really don't see those two things as being connected. For religion to turn around it needs to remove the cringe elements that are in fact not a core part of the religion. Which i think it won't inevitably causing the current structures to die. I think this will lead to a genuine revival.

@Escoffier Christianity is White genocide, and always has been. The jews created it to destroy Rome, which it did. The infection spread from there, was blunted for a while by the "Germanization" of the religion, but returned with renewed virulence in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Now its latest sect, Wokeism, has all the aggressive, sadistic people you would need to attempt to bring back the original in its pocket.

Though we probably know too much about the world for the original variant to ever work again except among very low-IQ people.

Whites don't need alien Middle Eastern religion or to grovel to an imaginary universalist rabbi ripped off from the Zoroastrian Sayosyant.

      Just let it go.

@judgedread Whatever problems Christianity is having today doesn't make the new atheists any less cringe.

@Escoffier This is true, yet it's not generating any blowback that might benefit religion. There is a vast memetic tide against religion across the world, with the possible exception of Islam.

My memetic attrition theory is just a novelty take, I can't prove that the collapse of agrarian society and rise of industry and now information technology have rendered all holy documents alien and nearly incomprehensible to modern man, but I believe it.

Knowledge and wisdom can be lost within a single generation, and what teenager wants to listen to fossilized fools? It is precisely because wisdom is ignored and experience discarded that the cycle must go on.

@Kalogerosstilitis2RevengeoftheJunta @Sulla_Felix @ballito @judgedread I think it's obvious, I can't understand how people can't see it right in front of their faces lol

It's why I dislike the literal interpretation of the bible, it just throws people into this idea of magical thinking. Once you're there you'll believe anything you're told.

It's basically just people gaslighting themselves.

Not trying to toss a monkey wrench into the discussion here, but there are some writings that Ragnarok is a Total Reset. Ask and Embla are two humans who hide in trees (ash and elm) and when the Ragnarok is over, come out and rebuild life anew. I'm on the fence about this being a post-conversion addition, as Snorri Sturluson was a Christian monk (where we get some of the writings from). The idea, then, becomes a cyclic rather than linear progression, as many pre-Abrahamic traditions maintained.

@Dagnar @thefinn @Sulla_Felix @ballito @judgedread True. A cycle or spiral (for the greeks) was the most popular concept.

@ballito @judgedread It means the Devil is winning. Though, to be honest, Christianity has always known of its own failure - the last book of the Bible is a long explanation of how the whole thing falls apart.

@Sulla_Felix @ballito @judgedread Its not Christianity that falls apart. Its mankind. Unless believing in Chernobog or Tutatis stops mankind's downfall. Entropy is inevitable. Christianity just yells you how it is. Only American Christians (heretics) believe in fairy tale happy endings and thus think the end times is a failure. Imagine a nordic believing Ragnarok is a failure of the faith of the northern pantheon.

Ragnarok isn't a cycle in itself. It's the final chapter of the book with a hook towards a new one. All that lives must die. From that death comes new things.
