@jwz Do you still write data to the disks or is it just the label these days? And also how wedded are you to black? Because I have some leftovers from this old project for my bathroom windows but they have all been cracked open at one corner so the disk part could be removed.
@jef Oh, I prefer a variety of colors to black! It's just that black or beige have been what I mostly end up with. I can definitely give those a third life. (Third half-life?) I write to the ones that are writable, but hand out lots that are not. The usual conversation is, "Is there data on this?" "Could you read it if there was?" If the answer is yes, they get a disk from the other pocket. floppydisk.com sells working disks for $1 and not-working for $0.19. Until they're all gone forever.
