“Musk must be seen as representing the U.S. president when he bets against the leadership of key European nations, allies until now,” former member of the European Parliament and Stanford University fellow Marietje Schaake wrote in an email.

Temporary Name (restful@noauthority.social)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Jan-2025 08:11:55 JST Temporary Name @LostInCalifornia @Zennagain Insurance requires payment. I don't know about the Iraq war thing. Trump won't fix social security. Young people are paying for old people and when the old people were young they were paying for the people older than them.
I agree that there needs to be some kind of safety net. There should be a minimum level. Personally, I favor universal healthcare. I just think that the way these things are designed at the moment is a wealth transfer from poor to rich.

LostInCalifornia (lostincalifornia@spinster.xyz)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Jan-2025 08:11:55 JST LostInCalifornia @restful @Zennagain True it does. A young person is paying for their own insurance, but all insurance requires other people.
And as for a wealth transfer = we currently have it set up so that a 1% can pay for a personal tax lobbyist and a congress person, and still make a profit.
Wealth is being transferred, alright, from the masses to a choice few pockets. And it's about to get worse.

Temporary Name (restful@noauthority.social)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Jan-2025 08:11:56 JST Temporary Name @LostInCalifornia @Zennagain I agree there are material and economic reasons given for immigration and that it supports the pension ponzi scheme to have more suckers at the bottom.
There are material and economic reasons for trans identity. We live in a world where companies go out of their way to employ people who are "diverse" if you're a white straight man there's an economic advantage to identifying as a woman.
One way to end this trend is to stop this economic advantage. -

The average TW isn't posing on the cover of Vogue or running a tv show, or even competing in women's sports.
I think cutting off porn access will help more.

- "There is no trust fund" There are 9. It's an insurance reserve.
- "It's going broke" Congress "borrowed" from it to pay for the invasion of Irag and has never paid it back
- "Trump will fix it" Trump plans to cut funding resoources and will make it go BKK faster
- "Young people are paying for old people" Young people would be paying for even more if it didn't exist. Even if you didn't have a wife (it's always the woman) who takes in grandma to feed, clothe and care for, you pay for it in increasing health care costs as disease spreads from the increasing homeless population.

Temporary Name (restful@noauthority.social)'s status on Wednesday, 08-Jan-2025 08:11:57 JST Temporary Name @LostInCalifornia @Zennagain I agree that pensions are a ponzi scheme but it's hard to argue that you need a bigger workforce when you ship all your manufacturing to other countries and importing extra workers reduces wages.
By Climate Change, I assume you mean wars and it was sold to europe, by Merkel at least, as a humanitarian thing.
That was all off-topic and uninteresting.
I was talking about the psychology used: we are one world culture is very similar to sexes are interchangeable.

Insurance is a ponzi scheme if you're always borrowing from the funds (looking at you GOP Congress).

There are material and economic reasons immigration is encouraged.
And unless you think the porn industry is a valuable source of a society's goods and services, bashing women has a net negative effect on the economy.

The basis of multiculturalism is the same as trans ideology. If you point out that cultures aren't interchangeable then it's even more obvious that male and female aren't.

Birth rates are replacement level. Certain industries require a low level labor force, and citizens no longer expect peasant wages.
Pensions need funding
And the non-capitalist reason:
- Climate change is creating more refugees.
All that is on top of 3rd world citizens realizing through global communications just how badly their own governments have managed things.
Not the same. Also, migration to the US is not the same, although the EU is trying to mimic our post WWII success.
Cultures do have a hard time melding, but there are material reasons for allowing it. The only material reason for "trans" is that men think women are too uppity.
