    This is cute post, and then you read the comments and half of them are some variation of this:

    "That woman should have minded her business."

    "Why can't men compliment a woman anymore?"

    "Women shouldn't be allowed in gyms."

    "Men aren't allowed to do anything."

    It's simple, I don't know a single woman who hasn't had a creepy interaction or just been straight up sexually assaulted by a man. This is a pretty simple problem to solve, but it's not women's job.

      @phpete @SailorDisco @RickiTarr Over the years I’ve learned that a lot of the behaviors we as men are taught while growing up are, in fact, creepy as hell.

      The good news is that it’s easy to de-learn those behaviors. Just don’t make that compliment. Simply give women space. Just keep my mouth shut for another 10 seconds and consider whether my joke will come across as funny, or as creepy. It’s mainly about simply NOT doing stuff.

      Now, getting other men to do the same is another challenge.

      @RickiTarr Men have made it so bad that I try as hard as possible to not do or say anything that would make me seem like a creep. It is the very least I can do to make women feel safe and more men should take note. It’s on us, not women to fix this.

      @SailorDisco
      I was taking about this just yesterday.

      A friend asked why I was "being weird" recently, and I had to explain my tendency to be extra cautious/reserved when I'm surrounded by predominantly female strangers out of concern that my normal nature could be misinterpreted.

      Which is stupid, and yet absolutely necessary.

      And anyone who agrees it's stupid but doesn't see the necessity is someone I'd advise caution around.

      @slothrop
      All true.

      Also true is that my particular upbringing coupled with having been a stay at home parent for over a decade landed me in an unusual position. To quote one of my kids' peers recently, I'm "just one of the moms, but a guy."🫤

      You're absolutely correct when you say it's mainly about not doing stuff.

      I'd like to add that it's also about 'order of operations'. Thinking needs to come BEFORE acting. (Speaking certainly qualifies as acting here.)
