     @Terry @pepsi_man It pains me to say it but (ugh) Crenshaw isn’t wrong about the stock thing; AOC complained about something similar when she noted that congresscritters are basically forced to supplement their pay through corruption so that the system can have them over a barrel. In fairness to (ugh) Catturd though this pay hike wasn’t accompanied by other reforms to get rid of said corruption so it probably was just a money grab.

     @Jewpacabra @HonkHonkBoom @Terry @pepsi_man Well they need someplace to live in D.C. I'm not an expert but I've heard that D.C. business is structured as such that living an hour away in some iffy neighborhood in Baltimore isn't really workable.
     They also need an address of where they live back "home". Games can be played with that but they would be back into playing some sketchy corruption game to pull it off.

     @HonkHonkBoom @Terry @pepsi_man $174k isn’t a lot when they have to have two houses with at least one of them being in the most expensive real estate market in the country. Traficant got around that by basically living like a hobo in DC, but most lack that level of discipline.

"We have to insider trade to supplement our huge salary" is way more egregious than saying Tyrone is 'forced' to rob the liquor store to supplement his welfare enough to feed his expensive habits, at least to me..
