翠星石 (suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com)'s status on Sunday, 15-Dec-2024 21:04:00 JST 翠星石 @Kyonko802 microsoft's proprietary malware has been proven to be malware time and time again; https://www.gnu.org/proprietary/malware-microsoft.html
That is a malicious antifeature, although such kind of antifeature is typically called "adware".
It's rather ironic that windows is now far worse at playing proprietary games than WINE+DVXK+systemd+Linux. -

Unfortunately all corporations end up infected by this shitty fucking sterile and stripped retard environment, so it's either put up with that or learn to do it the hard way.In conversation permalink -

We NEED a good OS but right now it's either this Windows kike malware, Apple's sodomite machines, or God forbid one of those linux things.
Why should we force ourselves to be limited to all these BAD options??In conversation permalink -

翠星石 (suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com)'s status on Monday, 16-Dec-2024 10:00:40 JST 翠星石 @EdBoatConnoisseur GNU coreutils is only one GNU package and I don't see why you would want to remove the best coreutils.
Glibc is also the best libc, but is also just one package out of 387; https://www.gnu.org/software/
All free software depends on GNU despite the endless efforts to remove the solid GNU/Foundation of freedom. In conversation permalink Attachments

EdBoatConnoisseur (edboatconnoisseur@poa.st)'s status on Monday, 16-Dec-2024 10:00:41 JST EdBoatConnoisseur @Suiseiseki I can remove the gnu coreutils and make do with busybox utils, that would leave what only glibc as part of the GNU os?

翠星石 (suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com)'s status on Monday, 16-Dec-2024 11:39:34 JST 翠星石 @EdBoatConnoisseur GNU software is packed full of features and are quite memory efficient - saying that they're bloated is a huge error considering the state of real bloat.
>for scripts use you gotta make your scripts work with just what busybox provides.
Only a lamer does that - for me it's GNU bash and using the full extent of fine GNU extensions. In conversation permalink -

翠星石 (suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com)'s status on Monday, 16-Dec-2024 11:44:02 JST 翠星石 @bronze @EdBoatConnoisseur You can compile CPython with LLVM+clang, but a C compiler is not the only dependency of Python.
If you select any nontrivial free software at random and start following dependencies, especially 2 layers deep, you will find lots of GNU libraries.
One example of a (sadly optional) direct python dependency is GNU readline. In conversation permalink -
