The US election seems to have been driven by dissatisfaction with the status quo, but it will make things worse and not better. How do we get people to point their pitchforks in the right direction?

I don't agree with it, and I think that trans basketball player should find a good lawyer and sue rightwing politicians for using their image, but fear was successfully stoked. Erie, Pittsburgh, and Youngstown politicians used it. I'm curious, was it used in your area too?

OTOH a bunch of white Dems couldn't bear to vote for a Black woman and stayed home. Follow Mekka's analysis. He predicts this shit right every time.

And he hates trump, but he refused to vote for any Democrat because he was brainwashed by that commercial into thinking that with dems in charge, all girls will be forced to compete with 6 foot 5 inches tall trans basketball, baseball, football players.

@Ponygirl @rukenau @dangillmor I don't think there are numbers to support that any electorally significant number of people changed behavior based on stoking of transphobic hate. It's despicable that it's happening, but it's not the mechanism of them seizing power.

@dalias All models are wrong, and any model of our world with all its variables that claims to be purely one thing is guaranteed to be wrong at a higher rate. I don't deny racism played a role, but that doesn't mean it's the only question worth exploring.
Also iirc the code of conduct on Mastodon includes being respectful of differing viewpoints. Impugning everyone who disagrees with you is not that. Please moderate the tone for more constructive dialogue.
