Any of you niggers gonna fuck around with path of exile 2?

I fucking hate pvp in PvE games. I'll never touch it in POE2. It's bad 100% of the time.

You can compete with PvE content too, but if there isn't any PvP then it's not going to be a very good ARPG right? Just carebear bullshit, probably won't have PKing like the classics did because gamers are a lot gayer now.

They want $30-480 for pre orders, I'm not sure if everything involved in that is purely cosmetic (with some quality of life stuff like bank tabs or whatever). I'm also not sure how much they're letting paid early access keep, when it does go f2p. They'll have more hands on experience with the game, but if they keep experience and gear it's obviously going to be much harder for free players to compete on release.

@Sui @BasedLord @matty @kroner "Compete"? Is there pvp?

So the early access packs give you an equivalent amount of in-game currency that can be used for cosmetics or bank tabs, EA key as a bonus. The actual game itself will be free on launch.
Anyways, I'm making a monk character today so I can electrify niggers and shit with kung fu

@kroner @Sui @BasedLord @matty Is the early access free?

@matty it's going to be genre defining. Iva replayed thousands of hours across a bunch of different ARPGs and I could (and will eventually) go into autistic detail about everything they did right. It is going to have more content than diablo 3, 4, and last epoch combined at the start of Early Access. Their current road map is to have the game at 1.0 within a year and they said this will roughly double the amount of content. That will end up putting the game at over 100 completely different bosses and 600+ enemy types, the endgame has 7 different game modes with more to come as well and a 40+ hour campaign. It's already broken 1 million preorders which is kind of insane for a game that going to be free in a year. The people in charge of the company are the founders of grinding gear games and are also head devs. It's real nice to see the people at the top understand their game on a very technical level.

I wouldn't touch d3, di or d4 tbh. Those are some of the shittiest APRGs I've ever seen, Blizzard really fell off hard after D2 LOD.
You mentioned preorders, what's their business model now btw? Are they resetting servers when it hits 1.0, or are those pre orders getting an obvious benefit vs free players? I hope they aren't going back on their previous monetisation policy. That was pretty much the only reason I gave them a chance in the first place lol, if they start slipping on that I'll just expect cash shop P2W and won't waste my time or money. I'm exhausted with anti consumer shit in the industry, even if the game is otherwise a masterpiece I can't support that bullshit. I'd go private server route or something.

It's looking pretty fucking great from what I've heard so far, but I doubt I'll have enough RAM for it.

Nigger WHAT ARE YOU WINNING AGAINST IN A PVE GAME
If you want to ruin your own experience by buying your way to the top in a PVE game who gives a fuck. Congratulations you defeated big nigger Montgomery in the castle and now you have nothing to do until the next season comes out and then you do the same thing. If someone wants to ruin their own experience that's fine. I can understand the issue with P2W in PVP games because it is shitty and unfair, but you are arguing about something that isn't even a problem. I think you just don't like modern companies, which is understandable, but are arguing a point that doesn't apply to this context.

I already said I care about P2W, that's the only reason I went near Path of exile 1 in the first place. Gameplay was kinda shit, at least when I played it, but I still dumped money into because I supported consumer friendly games. It's still shitty and unfair either way, it still shows the company doesn't give a fuck about their customers either way and it's a red flag of other anti-consumer practices either way.
Modern gaming is pretty much just fucking normie cancer yeah, but PoE came from a modern company and they took a firm stance against anti-consumer practices in gaming. It mattered to them then, and it still matters to me now.

No I'm not okay with pay to win, but you can't have pay to win in a PVE game. What are you winning against? The computer? Okay great you bought your way to beat the game and now you have nothing to do. You can't fight players so there's no one to grief. I don't understand the disconnect here. You want an open PVP game, which this is not then complain about pay to win. Nigga what
-

Yeah you can have P2W in PvE focused games, it's just having a tangible benefit against other players for money rather than skill. Diablo Immortal was mostly PvE focused, is that magically not P2W now?
> You want an open PVP game
Nigga I didn't even bring up PvP, that was either a cope or confusion from the people I was asking about P2W and other anti-consumer practices in a game they know more about than I do.

Nigga it's a live service game like most everything else. Early access is being released at a price but I'm pretty sure it'll be free at full release. What's the problem? I am not even a fan of games like this but come on now

You niggers are really all fine with P2W bullshit in games? Because that's all I was asking about. PoE1 stood out because it was pro-consumer, that's it. I didn't ask about pvp but that got brought up, I don't give a fuck about the time gap while it's still in beta. Just is it still pro-consumer or are they already red flags?
Here's an easy summary for you if you're still confused. P2W is bad for consumers, we are consumers/potential consumers.

I know that, and you keep saying p2w. If people playing this a year early gives them an advantage then the people who played poe1 for the last 12 years have the biggest advantage ever. (they don't because it doesn't matter). If you picked up POE2 in a year when it's f2p what advantage am I going to have over you? None, if you play by yourself or co-op with your friends there is literally nothing anyone else can do to affect you. You're not going to get ganked in your campaign by a rando. I think you have a really cooked idea of what this game is.

There's no free access for a year. There's a paywall. Joining a game late has nothing to do with P2W, not sure why you'd tangent that way?
> If you picked up POE2 in a year when it's f2p what advantage am I going to have over you?
Well if you haven't learned how to play in a year, then yeah sure. But as for P2W, it'd be keeping EXP/gear that the F2P would be lacking.
> Just play single player
There is no offline play for PoE2, and that wouldn't address P2W issues at all even if it did.
You're not going to get ganked anyway, because it's apparently got a pussy "dueling" requirement for PvP lmao.
> I think you have a really cooked idea of what this game is.
I asked you, someone very interested in the game, whether it was more P2W than the first game. I don't know about the game, so no I don't lmfao.

It is primarily a pve game that most people are going to play solo, or maybe co-op with some friends. Idk why you're harping on this advantage you think people are getting by playing it early.

I'm anti P2W, because it's anti-consumer and I'm deciding whether to be a consumer, I thought that would be clear by now.

As far as I can tell buying bank tabs is a "tangible benefit" you can get by spending on the game. I am not really familiar with what they're selling in the shop this time around but it doesn't seem P2W to me atm.

If people can have a year's headstart on others, that's definitely P2W to me. If they're already starting to slip on it, then it'll only probably get more and more P2W as time goes by. It's like seeing a games studio you love sign onto EA or hire sweetbaby or some shit, you know you've seen the peak and it's just time to leave.

You can make a non seasonal character that's permanent. You can have seasonal and non seasonal. After the season ends your character moves to normal realm. That's been the norm in ARPGs for years.
-

Ok, you're not understanding where I'm coming from. Can you get a tangible benefit from paying, is it Pay to Win, have they slipped on that ethical stance they once held?
-

There's non seasonal options as well bro. Idk what you're wanting this game to be.

As ethical/not anti-consumer as the first title which I dropped easily 3 digits into solely because they weren't a modern/normie gaming model. The game itself couldn't compete with D2 imo, but I still wanted to support it.
So you can keep one year's worth of exp/loot, or have they not stated whether or not you can? Seasonal's gay as fuck to me, time's too valuable to waste with resets.
-

The game has a seasonal model via leagues. People are going to be rerolling characters all the time like any other ARPG. The only main advantage someone is going to have over others is game knowledge and even then it's not like an MMO where you're fighting to get final hit on a boss or something.

Wait only seasonal, not just optional for rankings? Fuck that, yeah I'll skip.
