@carnage4life @mekkaokereke the custom algorithmic feeds really help too. there’s a feed i love called “quiet posters” that only shows posts from people you follow who *don’t* post a lot. pretty clever way to keep those people from getting drowned out.

@deivudesu @jakelazaroff @carnage4life @mekkaokereke Though very simplistic, Mastodon does at least have "lists". A feature one could use to replicate some of what Bluesky does. But even though I love my chrono feed here and have spent a long time making it very high fidelity, I've always said that choice and power features are better. The ability for people to have algo feeds or design their own feed programmatically would make this network so much more powerful.

@jakelazaroff @carnage4life @mekkaokereke *This*. So much *this*.
When people crow proudly about Mastodon's complete absence of algorithmic feed, all I hear is "I don't mind only reading from the loudest people in my feed"mekka okereke :verified: repeated this. -

@sabik @jakelazaroff @carnage4life @mekkaokereke Yup.
Mastodon's "No algorithm" feed, is a de facto "timezone and posting frequency selection" algorithm… -

There are also timezone effects; some people (presumably) mostly post when it's 3am where I am, so I hardly ever see them in my feedmekka okereke :verified: repeated this.
