the thing I love about people that complain about tipping is that it's just communism in a nutshell.
They don't like having the responsibility of having to pay a person a reasonable wage.

because the end is that they aren't going to pay a tip and dislike the situation where they are *expected* to.

@sickburnbro No the leftoids are correct on this issue. It shouldn't be an expectation to pay extra for a service just because food is involved

@Victor_Emmanuel that's the interesting part; you aren't paying "extra" - you are specifically being asked to pay directly for the labor of the server.

@Victor_Emmanuel for the chefs - you can send your food back if it sucks.
historically most mechanics were small independent shops, so you are paying ( or not ) them directly. If you have a repair done and it fails, you should expect to go back and have them fix it for no charge, for instance.

@sickburnbro Ok so why not do this for the chefs? Why limit it to the food industry? Why not have an expectation to tip your mechanic?

@sickburnbro Ok but it's not an expectation to pay them more than they charge. Which is the issue being discussed

@Victor_Emmanuel no, that's not the issue at all.
It feels like some people have an issue with a tipping scheme being "hiding how much something costs" - but when it's universal it's not like that.
Some people also get upset about haggling for cars and that sticker prices should be fixed.
But that's just not how business works, in general.

@Victor_Emmanuel Like, if you have a small mechanics shop you *can* ask them for a discount. Sometimes they might accept and say they will do it for cheaper at a future time when they would be doing no work.

@Victor_Emmanuel @sickburnbro Yes. I get what sickburn is saying and I remember this working in my childhood and early youth. It was never the issue like it is today.
What is different is my youth was still a single White culture in a White nation. Yes, we had minority minorities but they didn't affect how We did things.
Today you have arab and chink and jeet culture embedded everywhere where haggling and ripping off the customer is just expected behaviour.
Tipping is wildly out of control where I live, but it's in part because these people glommed onto the opportunity to do this with covid and in part because White people are just tired of dealing with their shit.
Tipping is just the salient that people focus on.,

@sickburnbro Ok,but none of the things you are bringing up are tipping. Haggling isn't tipping. The price of the food at the restaurant isn't flexible. The culture of tipping is a business saying "I'm not paying this employee, but you can if you want." It's a completely Jewish shifting of cost.

@Victor_Emmanuel tipping isn't jewish. your problem *seems* to be that you feel like it is trying to rip people off, and hide costs. But that's what I'm kind of getting to with business; actual costs are never given to you on a silver plate; tax isn't included. when shopping for a car the dealer isn't going to tell you "you need to expect $Y in expenses per year when factoring in what loan you get"

@petra @Victor_Emmanuel if you think tipping is bad, in a lot of places in CA they've started adding fees on that are like "staff cost of life" and STILL want to be tipped.
That's where I draw the line.

@BroDrillard @Victor_Emmanuel Because the more expensive things get the less you can keep up the fiction that there is a "fixed" price for anything.
Do you want a fixed price for houses too?

I hate having to haggle for cars. We don't haggle for washing machines, TVs or hairdryers. Why can't the fucking dealership put prices on the cars, and people can decide to take it or leave it. Haggling is a middle-eastern bazaar practice, not something for whites.

I wish you could just buy cars from the manufacturer.

@chud @BroDrillard @Victor_Emmanuel that misunderstands why we have dealerships in general.
