@doctorsex I like wool because it basically lasts forever. You can find jackets from the 60s-70s that look super modern because some of the styles never change (just drift). Overcoat at like 3/4 length is long enough to go over a sport coat but not so long that you're a human burrito. New stuff is good too, and if you don't want something so "dressy", bombers or peacoat depending on your build and preferences. I used to wear a bomber and I got so many comments on it it was crazy. -

@givenup @doctorsex Wool is soft when it's done right (nice jackets). It feels like... fine animal hair. Sort of like a soft horse or goat hair usually since it's been treated a bunch in the process. Wool naturally doesn't stink much (every synthetic except deliberately antimicrobial ones trap odor) and its fiber structure makes it warming even when wet. You don't TRY to get it wet, but it's a jacket. -

It's just an all-around better fiber than polyester or bamboo or whatever. Cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter, doesn't make your feet stink like synthetic fibers. Keeps your feet warm even when soaking wet. Wool is basically magic.

@gentoobro @doctorsex Bamboo is my favorite plant fiber because it wears like heavy cotton but doesn't break down as quickly. -

@doctorsex I'd wear something like this for the 3/4 length. -

@BroDrillard @doctorsex Nothing wrong with peacoats just not long enough if you ever have to wear a blazer or jacket.
