     @lain@lain.com Debatable IMO. It looks high budget and looks like it plays high budget but I'm not sure that's "good" The combat looks simple and boring and while the environments do genuinely look awesome the character designs are atrocious

     @anemone i think i mean something more like 'competent'. there's nothing that's obviously super ugly, or buggy. If you saw just a screenshot, you might think it's not interesting, but you wouldn't think it's a dumpster fire.

     @lain@lain.com yeah I agree there. It looks polished if nothing else, but then the story and dialogue is is (literally) written by twitter addicts with pronouns and 5 flags in bio and edited by an HR department

The guy who developed and wrote most of the lore for the Mass Effect quit after the first game because the writers and cutscene directors kept were sloppy and paid no attention to the details and nuance of the setting lol

     @sun @anemone at least veilguard seems to be selling very well so far. I think overall, people just switch japanese guys, like they did with american comics. Also, there are still games that have woke-y content but are good games, like BG3.

     There will however be a point where normies will just drop out because it's just too silly.
     Veilguard comes very close because the german localization is comically broken by efforts to introduce gender-neutral language in an extremely gendered language. No german has ever heard "hen macht was hen muss" or "Zauberere". It's terminally academic cult language that sounds like dutch

     @sun @anemone @lain Yes people will buy it. It will mostly be fanboys that don't care about the quality of the game and just want some RPG slop. Just like Bethesda fans. Some of the original fans went away before DA2 and most of them are gone since DA2.
     
     It's not even about that the game contains a lot of LGBT signalling, the first game did so too. It had lesbian/gay/bisexual relationships and characters talked about that almost all the time. It's about the very bad gameplay and story that became the norm in the last decade or so.
     
     You are not the target audience, neither is the original DAO/DA2 fan.
