   i remember doing paper delivery exactly once when i was around 13-14, with my mom. we had to walk around until 2 at night walking up lonely stairwells putting papers in people's apartment mail slots, carrying big sacks of papers on a bike we took turns leading around
   
   officer-cum-mining-boss grandpa came driving in his ford being all like "aren't you being a bit harsh on the boy" and mom just went "no, he has to learn that you finish what you start"
   
   we earned almost nothing from it, even in back-then money
