@alex_mastodon @dalias @moogal @lanodan auto scrolling (clicking the middle mouse button and moving the mouse up and down) is just a faster version of scrolling. The issue is with moving to arbitrary points on a large view, not the speed of the scrolling. And as mentioned, this is not an option on touch screens anyway.

I agree with you, a desktop UI needs a scrollbars thick enough to be clickable.Even though in Firefox (and probably other browsers) you can activate scrolling with the middle mouse button. (see attached png)

This is also very fast.But on mobile devices the screen space is precious, so a thin scrollbars must be enough.
