     I think trying to publicly normalize most fetishes is weird. Why can't some things just be special between partners? No one else needs to know. If you broadcast it everywhere, it stops becoming special.

     I just don't know why people feel the need to post their fetishes online so publicly constantly. I might shitpost about elf titties or something like that but when it comes to absolutely private stuff I'm not somebody who wants everything out in the open for everybody to see. Apparently that's not 'normal' behaviour anymore.

     It suffered from the same issue some of these communities did where they wanted to be "literally me" and the next thing you know you can get surgery scars in Dragon Age.
     
     Furries see their fursonas as "literally me", regardless of how and why. At a certain point, it's no longer their idealized self and they choose to want to be their SL avatar or fursona IRL to some degree. Hence, IRL gender shit invading furry art.      The other thing with the furry scene is that there is literally no barrier of entry, and the only one that exists now is about if you have kosher politics. Furries will draw fursonas for random celebs as they're desperate to have /ourguy/ (this is the entire career trajectory of Boozy Badger as an example).

     It is now indistinguishable from other soyed up communities online, to the point that outsiders see that scene as no different than putting sexuality flags in your game.

     @PurpCat @Forestofenchantment it's interesting though. Leftists/losers are attracted to certain things. What about Furry attracts so many losers? I'd guess it's that the fandom is all about hiding your real body. Either behind an avatar or in a fursuit. It's like cosplaying as a dangerous/sexy/muscular animal instead of an overweight/neet looser.
