I am the only person consistently masking out of the two of us who are doing it. #publichealth is dying, y’all. Our county commissioners and board of health were taken over by the right a year ago. I wish the public gave a a damn. #COVID19 #CovidIsNotOver #MaskUp

     @PhoenixSerenity All true! I heard a piece on the US response to COVID about a month ago. The original data was collected by volunteers. Volunteers were reporting to the CDC! Until they got tired of it and said this is your job to do. The former director was interviewed and said years of underfunding public health has had a devastating effect; claimed they are short 50K people to adequately do the work. It’s appalling.      @caban4 @PhoenixSerenity there is an amazingly harsh book on how the CDC is structured that prevents it from being effective in developing situations. It also details why the local boards of health are actually what we need to keep safe. And yes, those are underfunded.

     @caban4 I, too, wish the public gave more of a damn. Our public health authorities abandoned covid safety & brainwashed people into thinking covid is like a cold/flu. I'm in BC, Canada. Same dangerous & deadly PHO BS - which media repeats/spreads.
